We are calling on district businesses to come forward and find out more about a new initiative which could provide jobs for hundreds of local young people.
The new Kickstart programme funds new posts at national minimum wage for 25 hours per week for six months and £1500 for training and support for each new recruit.
Employers planning to offer more than 30 posts can apply direct to the scheme.
Employers with less than 30 can join a consortium which the council is helping to put together.
The new programme will enhance our existing workforce development strategy which highlights the need for young people and unemployed residents to develop the skills sought by local employers.
