The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations

Children at Rainbow Primary were involved in a whole host of educational fun activities to celebrate the Queens 90th birthday. The School day started with a special assembly, where children were reminded of the role of the Queen in British society and the wonderful work she has been doing since her coronation.

Later in the morning, sixty Rainbow children selected from all year groups were escorted to the City Park to join the Bradford Youth Band in singing Happy Birthday followed by the first verse of God Save the Queen in front of an audience of civic dignitaries and local Bradford residents. Children remaining in the School spent the morning preparing for the Royal birthday party by finding out more about the Queen through discussion and decorating their class tables for the School competition.

The afternoon saw the whole school participate in an outdoor street party singing happy birthday and cutting a huge birthday cake specially donated to the School by a local business Regal Bakery.
