***OFSTED INSPECTION***

03 April 2017

Dear parent or carer

Inspection of Rainbow Primary School by Ofsted

We have just told your child’s school that we will inspect it on 04 April 2017. The lead inspector will be Alan Chaffey. We are writing to you because we would like to know what you think about the school. Please take a few minutes to read the leaflet which came with this letter. It explains why we inspect schools, and what happens during an inspection.

Your views about the school are important to us

If you are a registered parent or carer of a pupil at the school (including pupils on sick leave or who are temporarily excluded), you can tell us your views about the school by completing Ofsted’s online survey, Parent View, at: www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.

Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, including the progress made by your child, the quality of teaching, how the school deals with bullying and poor behaviour. It also provides a free-text box for you to make additional comments, if you wish. The inspectors will use the online survey responses when inspecting your child’s school. Written comments can also be sent to the school in a sealed envelope, marked confidential and addressed to the inspection team.

To register your views, you will need to provide your email address, which will be held securely. It will not be used for any purpose other than providing access to the online survey. Neither schools nor Ofsted will have access to any email addresses.

Please complete the online survey by noon on 04 April 2017 as this will give the inspection team more time to consider your views. However, we will consider all online responses that are completed during the inspection, although the free-text box facility will not be available after noon on 04 April 2017.

Speaking to an inspector

If you are unable to complete the online survey, it may be possible to speak to an inspector during the inspection, for instance at the start of the school day, or to pass on messages to the inspectors if you are unable to speak to them in person. Inspection administrators will be happy to make the necessary arrangements. If concerns are raised about child protection, we may have to pass the information we receive to social services or the police. You can contact the administrators on 03000130594. Inspectors will be pleased to receive your comments, but cannot deal with complaints about individual pupils or settle disputes between you and the school.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the online survey.

Yours faithfully

Deborah McAvoy

Leadership Update For Parents

Dear Parents / Carers

You will be aware that Mrs. Andrea Symonds, our school Head Teacher has been away from school since February last year due to health reasons. In her absence , Mrs. Carol McDermott  an experienced  head teacher , has been appointed as an Interim Executive Head to support our very able Senior Leadership Team to ensure the high quality of service across all aspects of the school business continues to be delivered  for all Rainbow pupils. As Mrs. Symonds has decided not to return to her post, the School is seeking to recruit a new Head Teacher to move Rainbow forward to becoming an exemplar school in the Bradford District.

Can I take this opportunity to assure you that experienced leadership support will remain in place until the new head teacher recruitment is completed and the successful candidate is able to take charge of the School in due course.

PARKING – PORTLAND STREET

Dear Parent / Carer

Road Safety Around The School Perimeter

We are delighted with your positive response to the Schools’ joint initiative with Bradford Council and the Police to make it safer and more convenient for all of us around the School at PICKUP and DROP OFF times.

To help alleviate congestion around the School perimeter, we will continue to urge you to use the SHORT STAY parking at PICKUP and DROP OFF times in the Local Authority run car park at PORTLAND STREET. Parents are able to use this facility from Monday 30th Jan 2017 between 08:25am and 08:55am and 3:00pm to 3:30pm without incurring any Penalties.

Please note that this CAR PARK is keenly monitored by the traffic wardens, any parents or carers overstaying the agreed times are very likely to be issued penalty notices.

Can I take this opportunity to remind you that No One is allowed to park on the double yellow lines close to the school perimeter on Duinen Street, you can however park in the marked bays on the opposite side .The Police and Traffic Wardens will be keeping a close watch and drivers parking illegally will be issued with parking tickets.

We thank you for your continued co-operation in making your journey to and from the school a SAFER experience.

Rainbow School Uniform Check

Dear Parent/Carer

Children in neat and tidy school uniform go a long way towards creating a cohesive and positive first impression. In order to help us in that regard we are reminding Parents and Carers that children must attend the School in full uniform every day.

The school will be conducting random checks to ensure all our children are meeting this basic requirement.

Verbal reminders and uniform check feedback reports to parents will be followed up by phone calls from the School office staff.

Thank you for continuously supporting your school.
Carol McDermott
Executive Interim Head

Coffee Morning Invitation!

Dear Parents/ Carers
Rainbow Primary School would like to invite you to a Coffee Morning on 02.02.2017 at 8.50am at Rainbow Primary School.

It is an opportunity to meet and chat to other parents, have a coffee and to learn about a range of different things.

Presentations and workshops include ways to help and support your child with their learning and provide parenting advice and support on a wide range of matters.

Coffee Mornings are fun and informal and give parents the chance to ask questions, share experiences and give suggestions about what they want to learn.

We will speak in your language!

We look forward to seeing you all,

Anna Pliszka
